Punch! uses curves in a lot of its plan objects. They're available in 3D objects, in railings and stairs, in pathways, ground fill and a host of other places. Punch! added several more categories of curved objects in their new custom tools in AS4000. In fact, they are available in places where curves didn't used to be supported by Punch! (such as floors) with the advent of the shape conversions in AS18, which allowed for true spiral staircases and other formerly difficult objects.
Anyone who has tried to shape a smooth pathway knows how difficult controlling curves can be in Punch!. They seem to twist and kink very easily. Surely there must be a better way to handle curves.
And now there is. The Curved to Fit Microtool by TKE will allow you to control not only the sharpness of all Punch! curves (which Punch! allows for in some cases) but also the direction of emergence of the curve from it's control points, making the curve easy to direct and change even when the points are moved about. This is all done with a simple, intuitive graphical interface with immediate feedback to let the user know how the adjustment is done. With Curved to Fit it is possible to have items that are straight in part and curved in part, something that has not formerly been possible.
Curved to Fit is a MicroTool; that means it is built upon the platform of the PlansPlus PowerTool, which is a necessary basis for Curved to Fit to operate. It joins the growing list of TKE PowerTool offerings enhancing Punch! plans.
