From the Ground Up Lite

From the Ground Up Lite is the Lite version of the TKE PowerTool From the Ground Up. From the Ground Up Lite will input your common-sense measurements of the vertical aspect of your building and give you the numbers that Punch! needs in order to effect your model. Punch!'s numbers are not very intuitive, and there are version problems in using them. From the Ground Up Lite takes these into account in the computation and gives you what Punch! needs. The full directions tell you how to use the numbers in order that your home will always come out exactly right.

The rules that From the Ground Up and From the Ground Up Lite use are published in the TKE document The Ten Commandments of the Vertical. From the Ground Up Lite computes the numbers that Punch! needs and gives them to the designer; From the Ground Up goes several steps further and implements as much of them as is possible for a Punch! PowerTool to do. From the Ground Up will effect a sunken basement and automatically adjust walls, floors and roofs to the measurements, and even leave a copy of the measurements right on the plan.

The Plant Database

The Punch! plant database has been just about unchanged since Master Landscape enlarged it. All the data about the plants in Master Landscape, Master Landscape Pro, Platinum, AS18, AS3000 and AS4000 has been captured in this Excel spreadsheet, which may be searched and sorted in any way desired. For those without Excel, a second version of the same data in "csv" format (ASCII text, comma delimited fields) is also available.

A Triangle Calculator

The common carpenter's square is a favored tool among craftsmen - it's because it allows them to work with triangles but not have to learn the trigonometry that underlies its capabilities - an analog computer for trig. Here is a modern equivalent, and I'll give you the link to Donna Moulton's website Punch-Alternatives, where she added an unbeatable tutorial for the tool and an expanded explanation of triangle terminology.

Triangles

"The best laid schemes o' mice an' men gang aft aglay". As Robert Burns noted, few complex plans are ever perfect, and Punch! content (the objects, textures, plants and other files that come with the Punch! tool) have encountered a few errors in their time. Since these errors have a tendency to cause problems for PowerTools that are trying to manipulate them, TKE has developed a series of updaters to correct the known problems in all the content in all the versions of Punch! that are available. These updaters are all free, and are provided as-is, with no warentee.
