HighRise is a new PowerTool from TKE for creating buildings that have been beyond Punch!'s abilities before now. Punch! is limited to creating three floors of plans. While this works for perhaps 90% of the users who design with Punch!, there are still a small number who need more floors. Until now, they have been limited to planning on two separate files and not being able to see their whole building in 3D, or having to put up with confusing plans. Or simply design without one or more floors included.
HighRise allows planning, with full Punch! editing and 3D abilities, on up to six floors, all in a single Punch! file. Each floor is separately maintained and edited. The capabilities of the From the Ground Up PowerTool are also available in HighRise, all the way through all six floors.
Just as From the Ground Up does, HighRise will now handle upper story offsets, different construction methods, and will, optionally, automatically edit existing walls, floors and roofs to bring them into compliance with designer's vertical requirements. This may be done repeatedly, if required, or if any of the measurements change. Also optionally, the text messages with the measurements may be retained from one execution to the next, allowing HighRise to be used for different buildings or annexes on the same drawing (one possibility is using it for either side of a split level home), or for comparison with the newest specs. A hardcopy printout of the measurements can also be created.
In the HighRise version, any number of floors above the ground floor may be offset. Measurements are computed for all the floors, from one through six of them. Floors are accessed by names given to them by the designer, not simply by confusing floor numbers.
