As is customary in these things, we'll begin this manual with a description of the Menu system. Where we explain what a menu does in more detail, we will refer you through a hot spot to that detail, otherwise, we'll cover that item here. In general, PlansPlus reflects Punch!'s selections in all the menus except for Tools, where the commands that have no counterpart in Punch! reside.
Export... starts the process of exporting a PlansPlus graphic to the hard disk as a graphics file. It is discussed at some length on this page. As is common in all Windows menus, the ellipses (...) following the word Export indicate that a dialog will pop up as a result of choosing this option.
Print... starts the process of printing a graphic. It is discussed on this page.
Exit and Return to Punch closes the PlansPlus PowerTool, sends any plan changes back to Punch!, and then quits.
Plan Scale..., as in Punch!, opens a dialog in which the scale of the drawing and the printing may be set. This version has more options and information than the Punch! equivalent, and is discussed here.
Unit of Measure..., again, is the equivalent of the same menu pick in Punch!. Under normal circumstances the dialog will be the same as well, which allows for choosing either english or metric units for display. If the Dimensions in Detail Miswrote is installed, it is replaced with a dialog that allows for many options for displaying units in dimensions, affecting the precision, format, abbreviations and other aspects. See the MicroTools summary here for more details (pun intended!).
Work on Plan are taken right from Punch!. They allow the user to switch between floors (levels) and plans in the Punch! design. They are functionally identical to the row of tabs at the top of the PlansPlus window.
Visible Floors is another Punch! item which allows the user to turn of the viewing of items in the plan which are on the same plan but a different level. These items are called inactive; they are drawn in the inactive color (see the View menu below) color - by default a very pale blue, and are not selectable. This option can be used to turn off the display of inactive components. This option, for each floor, is imported from Punch!, but Punch! is a bit loose in it's interpretation of visibility, so you may notice that having turn off visibility in Punch! doesn't make it into PlansPlus. However, within PlansPlus you can use this menu pick to make the inactive parts visible or invisible.
Move House must be proceeded by a rectangular selection draw on the screen. The function moves the house and all the objects in it (but no landscape items) by the relative distance indicated by the drawn rectangle. In effect, every item in the house is moved the distance and direction indicated by the movement from the beginning of the rectangular drag to the end.
Grid Properties... are the same as their Punch! equivalents. The snap grid doesn't have any affect on PlansPlus as yet, but is available for future use.
Dimension Properties... are also the same as they are in the Punch! main program.
Screen Colors, like it's analog in Punch!, allows the user to change the default colors for the plans, and several other "system" colors. The final command, Reset Colors returns all the colors to the Punch! default values.
